i've never been a religious person. my parents were raised catholic and i was always raised just to be a good person and not live by any set of rules in a book. i spent a little time during high school going to a church's youth group, but it was more of a popularity contest than a real life changing belief. when i was a freshman in college i worked at a music venue and made friends with a group of boys who were really into metal music and dressed really cool, flannel shirts, vans, and tight jeans. you know, just normal teenagers. i got to be really close with one of the, named Brenden, and we are still great friends today. after hanging out with him a few weeks i found out that he was mormon.
the only experience i'd ever had with mormons were in middle and high school and they were just these religious nut jobs who got to leave school and get class credit to go learn about god. let me say, i did not like them. so, i was obviously a little resistant about continuing my friendship with Brenden after finding out his beliefs.
this all completely changed after getting to know him and we eventually became inseparable and the best of friends, despite our beliefs. his family was not too hot on the idea of him becoming so close to a girl though. this was because he was going to go on his mission in just a few shorts months. if you don't know what a mormon missionary does, you can learn about it here . it was going to be a huge step in his life and i now understand why his parents were so upset about me coming into his life over a year ago. i pushed him out of my life last october to try and protect him so he could forcus on his mission and not think about me.
brenden has now been gone on his mission in Washington DC for over a year now and we have kept in touch through letters and emails. he is just such a wonderful person and one of the only people i care about in my life, even though he is acrossed the country. one more year and he'll be back though!! woo hoo! we just need to keep our friendship strong until then and it will be just like it was before! so, here is some photos of brenden he has sent me since being in dc.
yay brenden!
im gonna convince him to do an interview soon so you can get to know the real brenden!
but, i bring brenden up because i have been reading alot of different blogs lately and have sent him a few of girls that i really admire. fnny thing is, one girl who i th ink is soooo neat and unique and amazing, is actually mormon! i wouldn't have ever thought in my whole life that i would admire someone with such different beliefs as me. you can read about taza and her husband on this blog .
i hope u enjoy it as much as me!

BLUE TEETH
i whitened my teeth today and had to put this "remineralizing" gel on it afterwards so my teeth don't fall out..or something like that. and i thought i'd share a photo from what it looks like..pretty funny.
it also snowed about 4 inches in arizona over new years and everyone turned into crazy people on the roads! not the most fun thing in the world driving on roads in a town not equipped with proper snow plows.
at least my parent's dog had a good time
i also remembered this levi's commercial that i used to absolutly love. remember this?
it's one of my favorite poems of all time by walt whitman. enjoy :)
